This year TriCoast really tried to open up a new area of art, High School Seniors.  While TriCoast has been known all around the world for our wedding work, here locally in our little part of small town Texas people really never even heard about us.  So summer of 2008 we set out to change that with some amazing senior reps and well just plain amazing seniors.

Here are a few in no real order, from this year with LOTS more coming soon I promise so keep checking back here on the blog.  With at least one senior of the books for each day this month - needless to say TriCoast is well on their way of getting the word out that TriCoastSeniors.com is here and here to stay.

We love unique images and truly want to “Tell the Story” of each senior so we hope these photos show just that - DIFFERENT than anyone else out there, much less in our neck of the woods.

Alaina and Derrek

April 4, 2009

Few weeks ago, before all the crazy traveling started, Cody and I drove up to Heather’s Glen to photography Alaina and Derrek’s Wedding.  It was a short and sweet ceremony followed by a fun reception.  The wedding also included a different approach to tossing birdseed to the bride and groom.  In this case, just the groom.  Click on the image link to the quick custom designed album with some of the images from that day.

The entire team of TriCoast was just recently down at LightPro just outside of Fort Myers Florida and I must say it is truly one of the most amazing learning experiences I have ever been a part of.

Here is a quick review of the week we were there:

_____________________
I was concerned that this LightPro would not have the same “feel” and “educational” aspects as the ones in the past events which were held out on the Island there in Fort Myers area.

BOY WAS I WRONG…

After a long exhausting day of testing, we finally put a video out with our test results.  The test was simple, but very straight foward.  Dumb it down!  You’ll see Mike talk, Cody model and me taking siesta’s on the side of the road.  So, bare with us on this 8 part video.  It’s a very dry, technical video for all the photo geeks out there.

The videos are in HD, but YouTube compression kills it.  HD versions are available though.
Part 1 of 8

Notes:  Introduction.  PocketWizard usable range test.  Range found to be 40 feet while using off shoe cord with Canon SpeedLite 580EXII, similar results expected with 580EX SpeedLite using wireless flash eTTL.  Test performed by TriCoast Photography including Mike Fulton, Jordan Chan, and Cody Clinton.

One of the oldest request since the inception of the Radiopopper devices has finally been answered.  Many photographers for one reason or another hated the use of velcro or gaffer tape to mount these devices to the flash.  Radiopopper answered with a hot shoe mount for both Nikon and Canon systems.  Here are some prototype images.

Private 1 on 1 workshop

March 9, 2009

A few weeks ago I had a 1 on 1 workshop with Angi Caples of Studio 3C in Monroe, LA.  Angi, already an awesome photographer, was looking to add a bit more wireless flash into her arsenal.  She picked it up quick and within an hour, she’s off shooting some great images on her own.  To see some more of her images, check out her blog at http://studio3cphotography.blogspot.com

Bridal: Alaina

March 7, 2009

I had a great time the other day with Alaina shooting her bridal session.  Her mom, Marsha, came to help us out.  Sometime during the session, someone left the bouquet in a flower bed outside… I’m not going to say who, but we all know who it is.  Our session was in Heather’s Glen, beautiful wedding venue few blocks away from downtown Conroe, TX.  Here are a couple of images.
